The 1972 epic crime drama featured Marlon Brando as “Don Vito Corleone”, the head of a powerful Italian-American crime family, based on Mario Puzo's best-selling 1969 novel of the same name. The artwork was inspired by the quote in the film “ In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns!” It features an actual map of Sicily showing the village of Corleone - the fictional birth place of Don Corleone (Above his RHS eye). The stylised graphic image of Marlon Brando’s face is rendered to appear like the contours of a map. with Warhol inspired shotgun screen prints overlaid.
