About: “Young Americans” Depicts David Bowie in August 1974, stepping out of his Lincoln Continental limousine, ready to enter the “Sigma Sound Studio” in downtown Philadelphia to record the “Young Americans” album. The album was released on March 7th 1975 and showcased Bowie's interest in black soul and R&B music. It was Bowie's breakthrough in the USA, reaching the top 10 on the Billboard chart. The single "Fame" from the album became Bowie's first number one hit single.
